Description: A growing body of evidence (e.g., Knežević et al., 2024; Lazarević et al., 2023; Purić et al., 2022; 2023) suggests that two types of questionable health behaviors – not following official medical recommendations (iNAR) and resorting to traditional, complementary, and alternative medicine (TCAM) – are more frequent than previously thought, and that they seem to have strong psychological roots. We will cross-culturally test this assumption, while also validating two brief measurement instruments – a checklist assessing intentional non-adherence to official medical recommendations (iNAR-12) and a checklist assessing the use of TCAM (TCAM-22) – by checking their reliability and factorial validity in samples from different countries.
