Wiki Version:
# Welcome to OAHack! OAHack is a hackathon and do-a-thon dedicated to spreading access to scholarly knowledge, data, educational materials, computer code and more. The barriers to open access present many challenges: - Journal paywalls keep scholarly knowledge from many journalists, educators, and scholars in developing countries. - The opaque handling of research data contributes to the "reproducibility crisis." - Practices and policies regarding the licensing of educational materials and code form an inconsistent patchwork, blocking distribution and reuse. Many, many other challenges also hamper our use of research and education to solve the pressing problems of today. OAHack invites you to tackle these challenges and more through projects which could involve **software, design, business models, policy frameworks and other tools**! ## Apply to OAHack!
