Description: This project explored whether the memory representation for experiences processed as episodic self-referential or autobiographical memories are available for retrieval in dissociative identities that report amnesia for the experience. Four samples were recruited: DID, simulator DID, non-amnesic controls who experienced everything given to both identities in the DID and simulator groups, and amnesic controls, who got only the experiences given to identity A (not identity B) in the DID and simulator groups. All procedures were laboratory-based and controlled.
