# Wetland Mapping with AI This repository contains files and code used to train a deep-learning model capable of delineating wetlands from remote sensing imagery. ## Background Wetlands are important and sensitive ecological areas, and often the subject of legal environmental protections and regulations. Thus, and accurate up-to-date understanding of their boundaries is critical to the effective implementation of conservation policies and actions. ## Methods Sentinel-2 imagery was exported from Google Earth Engine as TFRecords for use in model training. ## File Structure Code used to train UNet models on Azure and generate predictions is available in the linked GitHub repository. ### Credits The project was conducted as a collaboration between the Chesapeake Conservancy and Defenders of Wildlife, and was funded by the Electric Power Research Institute.
