Description: This project contains all relevant data and program code for the manuscript "A new approach to detecting cheating in sensitive surveys: The Cheating Detection Triangular Model" (Meisters, Hoffmann, & Musch). It includes the raw data for the sensitive questions and the subjective evaluation of the questioning techniques, a codebook and the SPSS code for the main analyses. Moreover, it contains the multiTree equations for the models and the empirically observed answer frequencies - both for the overall sample and separately for carriers and non-carriers. To reproduce the published results, import the csv file to SPSS and run the SPSS code in the sps file. The answer frequencies obtained in this way can then be used in the software multiTree (Moshagen 2010) to obtain the prevalence estimates reported in the manuscript. To facilitate parameter estimation in multiTree, the necessary equations and the correctly formatted answer frequencies are provided in the pdf files. These can be directly imported to the "Equations" and "Data" tabs in multiTree. Moshagen, Morten. 2010. "Multitree: A Computer Program for the Analysis of Multinomial Processing Tree Models."
