Wiki Version:
This study utilizes the Revised Markers of Adulthood scale (Norman & Grahe, 2019) in a sample of 861 participants to examine three scoring methods used in prior research: raw score, dichotomous, and fit scoring. The objective is to discern which method produces the strongest predictor of adulthood status. We will analyze each scoring method separately for the original MoA items as well as the newly revised items to identify which compilation is most accurate for measuring adulthood status. We expect Raw Scoring to be the strongest predictor of adulthood status, although it will highlight extreme scores and exhibit more variability. We also hypothesize Fit Scoring will be a stronger predictor of adulthood status than Dichotomous, and will have the strongest correlation with age and IDEA scores. Lastly, we expect the new MoA items to be better predictors of adulthood status than the original items.
