Wiki Version:
Workforce diversity within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields is pivotal to increasing Australia’s productivity, innovation, and social and economic strength. Women, people with disability, and people of gender and sexual minorities are pervasively and systematically undervalued, underutilised, and underrepresented in current economic arrangements. STEM workplaces include entrenched systemic factors and biases reinforcing workforce inequity and preventing workforce equity. Immediate, purposeful, and coordinated systemic change is needed to advance equity and inclusion in the STEM sector, add billions to the economy, and ensure current and future global challenges can be met. This project includes a series of reviews undertaken to identify initiatives effective in supporting workforce equity and inclusion.
