Wiki Version:
**Statement on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion philosophy and practice:** Our research team, which forms the core of the [LI-RADS IPD group][1] is dedicated to an environment of collaborative transparency. **LI-RADS IPD Group Mission and Values:** We hold ourselves accountable throughout all aspects of our work to nurture an environment of inclusion and respect by valuing the uniqueness of every individual. We recognize that our research should be applicable to the diverse communities at risk for HCC and commit to taking meaningful action to cultivate an environment of fairness, belonging and opportunity. **Recruitment and Retention:** The commitment of the LI-RADS IPD Group to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) is displayed through our mentorship and research opportunities, ensuring that all trainees, regardless of background, are welcomed into an environment conducive to growth and knowledge acquisition. **Research Population:** We recognize that HCC is a global disease that impacts diverse communities around the world who are at risk for HCC. We actively recruit contributing authors and datasets from at-risk communities around the world to ensure that our results are generalizable to all populations at risk for HCC (current data set includes contributions from 11 countries). Future work and funding requests will aim to include patient partner voices in our work to ensure that their values are reflected in the outcomes that are evaluated. **Analysis Strategies:** As part of our commitment to inclusivity and robust analysis, we will systematically include sex as a covariate in all future projects. We plan to regularly evaluate whether LI-RADS diagnostic accuracy differs for male and female patients. In addition, based on data availability, we will perform subgroup analyses of additional distinct at-risk populations in order to determine if performance of LI-RADS differs in specific patient groups and whether the system requires customization for distinct populations. **Process and Environment:** Our team is inclusive, meets regularly and ensures that every project is led by a trainee with supervision by a faculty mentor. All team members are invited to our bi-weekly group meetings. Project discussions are led by trainees. Trainees are encouraged to propose projects, ask questions and are featured as first authors on the projects they lead; for example this recent [Radiology][2] paper was led by uOttawa MSc student Haben Dawit and [another][3] by Duke Medical Student Stacey Goins. Our group’s dedication to open, inclusive and transparent science has led to a diverse group of participating [trainee investigators][1] leading projects from multiple institutions in several countries.
