**Lab Log** This page provides notes on data collection, including identification of any problems. We will document the following details of each testing session: date start time number of participants recruited All sessions were run by Emma Henderson using Prolific to recruit participants and Qualtrics to run the study. **Note**: The exclusions reported here for each phase may not match the final exclusions reported in the paper due to exclusions that occurred at later phases. For example, if a participant reported that they cheated in phase 3, their data was retrospectively deleted from all previous phases. **Note**: The number of participants that completed each phase of the study is slightly inflated due to some participants starting multiple sessions (n = 8). Thus the numbers reported here reflect the number of *sessions*, but the number of unique *participants* is less than this due to duplicate sessions. ---------- Phase 1 - 07 December 2020, 08:40 - Prolific recruited 636 participants to ensure completed data from our target of 608 participants. - Data collection completed ~ 16:45. - 42 participants were excluded either because they did not finish or because they do not meet our exclusion criteria. ---------- Phase 2 - 08 December 2020, 08:00 - 594 participants invited to return. 574 returned. - Data collection completed 22:00. - 13 participants were excluded. ---------- Phase 3 - 14-15 December 2020, 08:00 - 561 participants invited to return. 551 returned. - Data collection completed 15 December @ 22:00. - 8 participants were excluded. ---------- Phase 4 - 04-08 January 2021, 08:00 - 543 participants invited to return. 526 returned. - Data collection completed 08 January @ 22:00. - 19 participants were excluded. ---------- 09 January 2021 - Participants who did not complete phase 4, and therefore didn't receive the debrief, were sent the debrief using Prolific messages.
