Pre-analysis plan for the “Media Priming Replication Project”

This pre-analysis plan describes a replication of Experiment 1 in Iyengar, Kinder, Peters, and Krosnick (1984). The current experiment was designed to ask participants to watch edited news videos, in which the degree of coverage of a specific issue (the U.S. base relocation in Okinawa, Japan) was to be manipulated. We plan to collect pre- and post-treatment measures from the participants, including issue specific, and overall judgments on the performance of Prime Minister (PM) Abe. The pre-analysis plan was uploaded to Open Science Framework before the experiment is actually fielded.
