Wiki Version:
Aims ---------- We investigate reactions of witnesses of an embezzlement in the laboratory. We assess participants' perception of the situation, their emotional responses via self- and other-ratings, and physiological measures of heart rate. We test how these measures, as well as measures of personality dispositions, are related to whether a person intervenes or not against the embezzlement. ## Procedure ## Participants (*N* = 150) will be invited for a laboratory study, ostensibly on Learning and Emotion. At a first time of measurement, participants complete personality tests and questionnaires. At a second time of measurement, approximately 2 weeks later, an embezzlement takes place. In more detail, all participants will witness how two experimenters plan and implement to keep money that rightfully belongs the department they are affiliated to.
