Description: ABSTRACT An adequate supply of courses and institutions has played an essential role in shaping and building students' career. However, an issue for the choice of courses and institutions is one of the major concerns for higher education. The students in Manipur are not able to exercise their choice of courses and institutions effectively. The worst is the hill district. Besides, higher education in Manipur faced a number of problems and challenges. The quality of higher education in Manipur is far below the national average. The teaching-learning process is often disrupted with frequent ‘bandh’ and strikes the state's everyday culture. Hence, amidst the crisis, a proper academic ambience is not possible to build in the state. This further compels the students to migrate outside the state either for studies or for work.
