Wiki Version:
The psychologists of the **department for career advice at Ghent University** provide various group-based programs for **students**. Students participating in the **program targeting fear of failure** will be asked to participate in this study. The intervention principally aims to improve both the students’ emotion regulation (e.g., reappraisal and relaxation) and study-related behavior (i.e., effective study techniques versus procrastination). Accordingly, Repetitive Negative Thinking is not an explicit focus, as is the case in RFCBT (Rumination-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, cf. Study 1), even though it is a common (and crucial) complaint in this population. Therefore, supplementary Cognitive Control Training (CCT) is hypothesized to have an added benefit. People following the fear of failure program will be given the opportunity to participate in our study, for which they will receive access to a website designed for (the investigation of) online CCT. More information on the design, measures and operationalization of the CCT can be found under the method component coupled to this project.
