Wiki Version:
A second direct replication attempt of Payne, Hall, Cameron, & Bishara's (2010, PSPB) Experiment 1 wherein a multinomial processing tree (MPT) model of responses in the affect misattribution procedure (AMP; Payne et al., 2005) is proposed and validated to shed light on the mechanism underlying the AMP. The data collection following the exact procedures outlined in the Replication Report (see ReplicationProtocol#2_PayneEtAl(2010)_byLeBel.doc) will begin February 26, 2013 at 10AM and continue until we have reached the planned sample size of N = 144. **Differences between Replication Attempt #2 and #1:** All photos stimuli for AMP task were increased in size by 32% so that they would physically appear to participants as they physically appeared to participants in Payne et al.’s study (to account for differences in the physical size of monitor and screen resolution used by Payne et al.).
