Description: In this study we examined the neural mechanisms underlying novel and practiced task/rule encoding and performance. We compared a group of healthy control adolescents and a group of adolescents at clinical high risk for psychosis. Deficits in goal processing, such as maintaining task rules, are thought to be central to psychosis, so it is critical to understand when in the timecourse of the disease these deficits begin to manifest.
