This is the accompanying repository for the article "Statistical characterization of Airplane Delays" by Evangelos Mitsokapas, Benjamin Schäfer Rosemary Harris and Christian Beck. All flightarrival information is stored in the xlsx files in the Data folder. The largest amount of data is sourced from Heathrow (LHR). The data collected during the COVID-19 period at LHR only contains the delay values. Code overview: "Hsit_MLE_Plots.ipynb" plots the histograms, computes the delay indicies introduced in the paper, as well as combining the two flanks in a continuous fit. "Superstatistics plane delay.ipynb" carries out the superstatistical computations. To run the code, simply download everything. The code exports all pictures into a "Pictures" folder.
