**JHU Electronic Lab Notebook Template** ----------------------------- #### **by** #### #### **JHU Data Management Services** ####
JHU DMS created this template to get you started using OSF as a Lab Notebook. Each component within uses the wiki space to provide a brief explanation about suggested content and in some cases links to other helpful resources.
Unlike some electronic lab notebooks, this design works mainly as a "binder" for gathering and accessing your materials from one space. You can take notes and record data in your preferred space and either connect your storage service (such as JHBox) to the OSF or upload work directly into OSF storage. To use this template: 1. Make a copy by returning to the main project page and clicking the duplicate icon in the upper right private public options menu. Select the fork option on the far right when prompted. This will save a full copy (defaulting to private status) to your projects for you to use. 2. Create a new project and name it as you choose. 3. Hit the "more" option and choose to use this template from the dropdown list provided. 4. Customize it! Use all, some, or none, of the components we've provided. You can customize the wiki for each component by adding information about that component and providing links to other materials. Consider using a third party storage service add-on to pull in notes and items from your preferred cloud space such as Google Drive.
**Note: This Electronic Lab Notebook template and the OSF system should not be used to store or collaborate on files that contain PHI, PII and other sensitive information. All materials related to such content must be thoroughly de-identified prior to use with the OSF. This includes JHBox and other linked third-party storage services.** For more detailed information about using the OSF interface or to ask further questions about using the template as an Electronic Lab Notebook please contact us at datamanagement@jhu.edu.
or
Access the tutorials, FAQs, and support information from OSF Guides .
