Description: The aim of this scoping review is to identify and map the available evidence around effectiveness of Safety Planning Intervention (SPI) for Children and young people (CYP), as there has been no systematic review of SPI for CYP. Although recentlly there has been more literature on this area (McManana et al, 2016; Mcmanama et al, 2020; O’Connor et al, 2019; Manning et al, 2018; Skovgaard-Larson et al, 2016; Czyz et al, 2019; Bickerton et al, 2014; Asarnow et al, 2014), they are all looking at SPI as part of a wider intervention. Rationale and objectives: A systematic scoping review is the most appropriate approach for addressing the aim of this study, as scoping reviews propose to map the extent, range and nature of relevant literature in the area of study (Arksey and O’Malley, 2005). A scoping review does not appraise the quality of study included, unlike a systematic review, but seeks to determine whether a more comprehensive systematic review is required (Munn, Peters, Stern, Tufanaru, McArthur & Aromataris, 2018). It also clarifies key concepts, definitions and characteristics in relationship to the concept (Munn et al, 2018). The aim of this scoping review will be to help identify any gaps in the literature and to summarise the evidence already available (Arksey and O’Malley, 2005). Mapping the available evidence will be undertaken, along an examination of the content of the SPI, and any evidence of effectiveness.
