Description of variables in `ChangTangNevins_bytokendata.csv` (if the variable is referred to by a different name in the paper, the name in the paper is provided in parentheses): - **Phone**: target phone (vowel) represented by current token, transcribed according to labels used in forced alignment - **Word**: word in which token occurred, transcribed orthographically - **Utterance**: utterance ID - **PStart**: start time (in sec) of phone token - **PEnd**: end time (in sec) of phone token - **PDur**: duration (in sec) of phone token - **F1**: first formant frequency (in Hz) measured over middle 50% of token's duration (or over whole duration if token duration < 50 ms) - **F2**: second formant frequency (in Hz) measured over middle 50% of token's duration (or over whole duration if token duration < 50 ms) - **F3**: third formant frequency (in Hz) measured over middle 50% of token's duration (or over whole duration if token duration < 50 ms) - **F4**: fourth formant frequency (in Hz) measured over middle 50% of token's duration (or over whole duration if token duration < 50 ms) - **F0**: fundamental frequency (in Hz) measured over middle 50% of token's duration (or over whole duration if token duration < 50 ms) - **Participant**: participant ID - **Language**: language of token (*German*, *Korean*, or *English*) - **LangStatus** (**RepLang**): status of the token's language for current participant, i.e. which repertoire language the token comes from for current participant (*L1* or *L2*) - **Condition**: drinking condition (*sober* or *intoxicated*) - **IPA** (**Vowel**): target phone (vowel) represented by current token, transcribed in IPA - **NeareyF1**: Nearey-normalized first formant frequency (F1) of current token - **NeareyF2**: Nearey-normalized second formant frequency (F2) of current token Description of variables in `ChangTangNevins_vowelareas.csv` (if the variable is referred to by a different name in the paper, the name in the paper is provided in parentheses): - **Group**: participant's group/L1 (*German* or *Korean*) - **Participant**: participant ID - **LangStatus** (**RepLang**): status of language of current vowel category for current participant, i.e. which repertoire language the current vowel category comes from for current participant (*L1* or *L2*) - **Condition**: drinking condition (*sober* or *intoxicated*) - **IPA** (**Vowel**): target vowel category, transcribed in IPA - **VowelArea**: area of 95% confidence ellipse around tokens of target vowel category in Nearey-normalized F1 x F2 space
