Description: The database presented, compiled between September 2019 to October 2020, is a main output of the MAGICLAND (Marine Geo-hazards Induced by underwater Landslides in the SW Iberian Margin) project. Based on bathymetric DEMs available from EmodNET, the dataset compiles geomorphological properties of 1552 submarine landslides mapped offshore West and Southwest Portugal. A wealth of 43 parameters were measured or calculated, which include a subset of morphological quantifications for the evacuation and deposit sections for 347 occurrences where the latter was observed. The objective that led to the dataset compilation was the development of quantitative assessments of submarine landslides offshore SW Iberia, with a major goal to understand their properties and tsunami-inducing potential. This dataset is made available for the free use and benefit of the international marine community. Further contributions or analysis based on, and complementing the MAGICLAND database will be welcome.
