In this study we examined illusory correlation effects on self-reported or explicit evaluations and more automatic or implicit evaluations. An illusory correlation can be defined as the phenomenon of perceiving a relationship between variables when no such relationship exists. We have run two experiments that used the IAT as implicit evaluation and a third and fourth experiment that use the AMP and EPT.
