By loophole behavior, we mean acting on a possible (but unintended) interpretation of another person's request or command (e.g., a parent tells their child, “It’s time to put the tablet down,” and the child puts it down on the table but keeps looking at it) . We propose that exploiting a loophole is a means to achieve one’s own goals while reducing the probability or severity of social penalty. FILES ------------------- Under OSF Storage, there are two folders: Adults and Children. The Adults folder contains (1) pdfs of experimental surveys and (2) data for three studies with adults exploring Loophole Experience, Loophole Evaluation, and Loophole Prediction. The Children folder contains pilot data and analysis script for an experiment exploring children's loophole generation and for a study with adults exploring their evalution of children's loophole behavior with their parents.
