Boat-based observational data on social traits collected over a 32 year period in Shark Bay, Western Australia. Identifiers have been removed. Variable Descriptions: **SurveyNumber** - a unique ID for each survey taken **SurveyDate** - the date of each survey **DolphinID** - a unique 3 letter code for each individual dolphin seen **Sex** - the sex associated with each DolphinID (NA indicates the sex is not known for that dolphin) **ObsAge** - The age of the dolphin at the time of observation, in days **WeanAge** - The age each dolphin was when it was weaned, in days (used to define the calf period) **Age.Class** - Which age category each dolphin was in at the time of observation **Group.Size** - The number of dolphins present in each survey **Group.Cat** - Categorization of the group size into alone (incl. mom+dependent calf), small or large **First.Five.Activity** - The predominant behavior assigned to each survey **NumAgeCats** - The number of age categories that each dolphin has 15+ sightings for (used to filter for dolphins with sufficient data) **NumAdult** - The number of adult age categories that each dolphin has 15+ sightings for (excluding the calf and juvenile periods)
