Description: This research examined heterosexual women’s self-esteem contamination by perceived objectification by their partner – either his objectification of the partner herself (personal objectification; Studies 1a and 2) or his objectification of women generally (categorical objectification; Studies 1b and 2). Two mediators were hypothesized: self-objectification, as internalized partner-objectification, and lacking body appreciation, as consequence of self-objectification
