Description: The aim of the project “interEdu” (concept development to enhance interprofessional education in vocational and academic nursing education) is to develop and pilot a longitudinal core curriculum for the training of competencies for interprofessional collaboration within the first cycle of nursing education in Germany. Since undergraduate nursing education takes place both at vocational and university levels in Germany, the curriculum has to target each of these two levels. Key elements of a longitudinal core curriculum will be identified based on results of a mixed-methods study (including standardized and qualitative interviews) and a literature review. The objective of the review is to identify national and international frameworks, recommendations, and empirical results on IPE in nursing education. The following review questions will be addressed: (Q1) Which frameworks and core curricula are described for the longitudinal training of interprofessional competencies in nursing education? (Q2) Which effects, as well as facilitators and barriers, are reported for learning opportunities for the training of interprofessional competencies in nursing education? (Q3) Which projects for the training of interprofessional competencies in nursing education in German-speaking countries or regions (Austria, Germany, Switzerland) are reported?
