Data and materials repository for two experiments characterizing the time course of visual object categorization with object substitution masking. **Data files** - exp1_data.csv: Experiment 1 data (N=34) - exp2_data.csv: Experiment 2 data (N=81) Data is organized into the following columns: 1. trial number 2. category level (basic, superordinate) 3. category (bird, dog, car, plane) 4. answer (yes, no) 5. mask offset (ms) 6. target object file name 7. distractor 1 file name 8. distractor 2 file name 9. angle offset (degrees) for visual array 10. response (1=yes, 0=no) 11. RT (ms) 12. participant code **Stimuli** All images used in the experiment are included in the stimuli directory. Images are separated by category: animal, bird, dog, car, plane, vehicle.
