This collection is an unrepresentative sampling of publicly available data that I happen to find interesting. It is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of availability. In the following sections, I provide some examples of available data, including basic discussion of popular data repositories, links to open data, datasets to get you started, and a list of other places to look. In addition, I have included a long list of possible sources. I recognize that this list will forever be incomplete. Nevertheless, it is a good place to start.
Common data repositories:
- ICPSR
- Harvard Dataverse,
- Nature’s list of repositories
- This list is often updated and it isn't social science specific,
