Wiki Version:
This page contains the main text of the commentary draft entitled "". It also contains all supplementary materials, and all materials -- data with the suffix .dta, and code with the suffix .do -- necessary to replicate Figure 1 presented in the main text. Before attempting to replicate Figure 1, *please read* the attached supplementary materials (.pdf), which explain botht the motivation and estimation procedures underlying these analyses. Additionally, please note that -- as the raw and unmerged data files are quite large -- the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) data file included on this page is a fully merged (matching vaccine names to adverse event reports) and subset (i.e., to just MMR and MMRV vaccine adverse event reports) file. To replicate all main text analyses, please download the .dta and .do files onto your machine. Then, change all file paths in the .do file to point to where you've stored the VAERS data, and where you'd like to populate the results. The full file will run in its entirety and replicate Figure 1. (Note that I have included code -- which is *not run* and "commented out" that summarizes how to transform the raw VAERS data into the subset and merged datafile uploaded here).
