**Contains** Rdata files with datasets ready for analyses. The files can be reconstructed with the R-scripts ([https://osf.io/a8jwb/][1]) and can be immediately plugged into the R-scripts (h[ttps://osf.io/a8jwb/][2]) to reconstruct the results of the paper. We recommend **read**ing the **READ_ME file** **before using the data**. ---------- WHEN USING THIS DATA, PLEASE CITE: Bulla et al (2016). Supporting infromation for 'Unexpected diversity in socially synchronized rhythms of shorebirds'. Open Science Framework. http://osf.io/wxufm Retrieved: ADD DATETIME. ---------- Questions can be directed to: Martin Bulla (**bulla.mar@gmail.com**) ---------- FILE DESCRIPTION **comparative_all.Rdata** - contains 4 objests (dataframes) used in the main analyses; dataseframes can be generated by the R-script available at http://osf.io/wxufm d - bout level dataframe containing individual bout lenght and all variables necessary for the analyses of bouts or for aggregation to nest, population and species level z - nest level dataframe containg median bout length and general period length of the rhythm and variables necessary for the analyses zz - population level dataframe containg median bout length and period length (based on z dataset) of the rhythms and variables necessary for the analyses zzz - specieslevel dataframe containg median bout length and period length (based on z dataset) of the rhythms and variables necessary for the analyses **light_temp_map_data.Rdata** - contain 2 objects (dataframes) used for visualising the min T and difference in sun elevation on the map (Extended Data Figure 3a,c); dataseframes can be generated by the R-script available at http://osf.io/wxufm zp - data used for plotting of 3a (tamperature) d - data used for plotting of 3c (difference in sun elevation) **temp_data_cor_.Rdata** - contains 13 object (dataframes) used for correlating latitued with the min T and with the difference in sun elevation (Extended Data Figure 3b,d); dataseframes can be generated by the R-script available at http://osf.io/wxufm w - data used for calculating the correlations and for plotting z4,z5,z6,z7,z11,z12,z4x,z5x,z6x,z7x,z11x,z12x datasets used for preparing "W" contain temperature data (min, max - files with x at the endd) for the globe for the respective month of the year (indicated by number) **_BLGO_frie_1415901803_2014_f_E391_2016-05-03.Rdata** - contains data to generate Extended Data Figure 6 **_Limosa limosa_B3RLLL_Female_2014_30_UiA_.Rdata** - contains data to generate Extended Data Figure 6 **_SESA_cari_112SESA_2013_m_C631_.Rdata** - contains data to generate Extended Data Figure 6 **_SESA_cari_112SESA_2013_f_C609_.Rdata** - contains data to generate Extended Data Figure 6 [1]: https://osf.io/a8jwb/ [2]: https://osf.io/a8jwb/
