Wiki Version:
**Early Adopters of Hydroxychloroquine + Zinc in the Media** **Dr. Vladimir Zelenko** is far and away the leading early adopter of HCQ+High Dose Zinc, both in terms of numbers of patients treated – over 1500 now – as well as the level of publicity. He's also the only one who has made his dosages public - this was the subject of a televised phone call by talk show host Sean Hannity to Vice President Pence. Hannity: “Hydroxychloroquine, 200 milligrams twice a day, five days. Azithromycin, 500 milligrams once a day, five days. Zinc sulfate, 220 milligrams once a day for five days ... His results, we have had zero deaths.” Zelenko's regimen of HCQ+Zpack+Zinc has been promoted by President Trump, who ordered supplies of HCQ to be sent to state governments for distribution. There has been some question as to how many of his patients had mild symptoms and might have gotten better anyway. On April 22, Zelenko reported in a short TV interview that 400 of his patients recovered from severe symptoms. Zelenko underlines that time is of the essence in saving patients. He says he starts giving them the three-drug cocktail immediately without waiting for tests to confirm the Sars-Cov-2 diagnosis, because it takes three days to get results and that window is critical. He told NTD News, "If it were peacetime we could spend months doing the clinical studies figuring out which bullet is the shiniest and where it's the best and which medication has the least side effects and then we can use it. Unfortunately, we don't have time." He is aware of the zinc ionophore mechanism: “The virus is inside the cell, the zinc cannot get inside the cell for biochemical reasons, so the hydroxychloroquine opens the door and lets the zinc in." He predicted that this pandemic will be studied in the future, like other monumental historical events. “There were people advocating common sense intervention with medication to alleviate death and human suffering, and there were those that got in the way of doing that.” ABC News, April 7th. **Dr Anthony Cardillo**, CEO of Mend Urgent Care in Sherman Oaks, CA, said he focuses on severe cases. So far he prescribed HCQ+Zpack+Zinc to only 5 of his 95 patients who tested positive. "The other 90 people did very well on their own. No treatment whatsoever." "It was actually the hydroxychloroquine opening up a channel in the cellular membranes allowing zinc to come into the cells," he said, "And we do know high levels of zinc inside of the cell that's infected with the virus shuts down that viral replication machinery." Some doctors are saying HCQ only works with zinc. **Dr. Eric Beeth** in Brussels has a treatment using 2x200 mg HCQ and about 30 mg of zinc biglycinate, plus other vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements. He has a unique explanation why older people suffer more from COVID-19, which involves the capillary bed. He advises an EKG before prescribing HCQ. Los Angeles Times, April 15th. Interview with **Gregg DeNicola MD**, Caduceus Medical Group in Laguna Beach. Of the 200 to 300 tests DeNicola has done since March 10, 22 coronavirus cases are being treated... Only one of his patients has been hospitalized so far, and DeNicola said other patients with more severe cases have responded favorably to his use of hydroxychloroquine… He said, “We tried Z-Paks and zinc because some literature suggested it, but it was all anecdotal. No one’s done the studies.” He felt they weren’t helping enough. His office is keeping track of the data. Milder cases receive Z-Paks or zinc. **Dr. Roger Seheult**, Pulmonologist in Banning, CA, producer of the Medcram videos, with 743,000 followers on Youtube. His April 21 episode: "Coronavirus Pandemic Update 59: Dr. Seheult's Daily Regimen (Vitamin D, C, Zinc, Quercetin, NAC)." Quercetin is a natural zinc ionophore. (His earlier episode on zinc ionophores "COVID-19 Update 8: Zinc and chloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19?" is cited in this review of the literature on ) April 21. **Dr. Shahinaz Soliman** has been a Torrance family physician for 22 years. But in early March, she became a coronavirus patient. Dr. Soliman was admitted to **TORRANCE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL**. She responded to her treatment which included azithromycin, zinc supplements and hydroxychloroquine . "We don't have other options and we don't have enough studies... Patients have been calling and it is my responsibility to help them as well." April 10. The Dallas News interviewed the medical director of The Resort at Texas City, a nursing home. "Since starting a 5-day regimen of hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin and the vitamin zinc, the first group of patients either improved or stayed the same, said **Dr. Robin Armstrong**. None has gone to the hospital. He acknowledged it is not clear whether the drugs are to thank or the patients’ own immune response. “That’s a hard thing to tease out,” Armstrong said. “We are compiling a lot of data to try to figure that question out ourselves.” WLOX TV Biloxi, April 8th. **Dr. Demitri Yanez** said he has been using the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine in conjunction with the antibiotic Zithromax to treat COVID-19 patients with great success. “I have seen a turnaround in their symptoms sometimes as soon as four or five days,” Yanez said on Tuesday, “and for double pneumonia, I’ve seen it turnaround in five to seven days.” He also recommends adding zinc to the mixture, though it is apparently hard to find. **Dr. Paul Marik** of Eastern Virginia Medical School has a Covid protocol here . It includes 75-100 mg of zinc, Quercetin or HCQ, Vit. C, Vit D3 and melatonin, but is only being used for mild cases or prevention. April 23. **Dr. Jean-Jacques Rajte**r, Broward Health Medical Center, Ft. Lauderdale FL prescribes Ivermectin by itself and in combination with the treatment of hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin and zinc sulfate. Just a few weeks ago he started adding Ivermectin. Since then he has treated dozens of people with “results so encouraging he called them remarkable.” The doctor is currently in the process of publishing a scientific paper - he is some weeks out from completion. "Zinc sulfate added to hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin may improve outcomes among hospitalized patients." May 8, preprint, large scale retrospective study by NYU. The study concluded that "our observations support the initiation of future randomized clinical trials investigating zinc sulfate against COVID-19." Here a citizen scientist Spencer Stang has compiled a list of media reports by doctors on successes with HCQ and/or zinc. Includes a comparison of country death rates and HCQ usage. Aside from President Trump, the most famous advocate has been Elon Musk of Tesla and SpaceX, who may have started the ball rolling with a tweet on March 16, after he saw a Medcram Covid Update 35 on Youtube. Dr. Raoult in France is also very famous for advocating HCQ but has not been explicit about the role of zinc.
