# Module 8: Introduction ## Summary This module introduces cyber security from an organisational perspective. Organisations have become increasingly dependent on technology and digital infrastructure for their day-to-day operations, making them vulnerable to cyberattacks. The cybersecurity threat landscape has become more diverse and sophisticated, with attackers constantly adapting to new technologies and techniques, so organisations need to ensure they have a robust cybersecurity framework in place to detect and mitigate any cyber threat. From an organisational perspective, cybersecurity encompasses various practices such as: - Risk management: Organisations need to identify and assess their cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities and threats, and develop a plan to respond to incidents. - Awareness and training: Organisations need to have a cybersecurity awareness programme to train employees on best practices such as password management, phishing and social engineering. - Policy and procedure development: Organisations need to have well-defined policies and procedures for information security, access controls, data classification and incident response. Overall, cybersecurity from an organisational perspective is an ongoing process that requires vigilance, adaptation and investment in technology, people and processes. In addition, cybersecurity needs to be addressed by senior management to ensure that cybersecurity is seen as an important issue in an organisation and that people keep it in mind. ## Learning Goals - How risks can be managed in an organizational setting - Know of which parts a cybersecurity awareness trainings consists ## Table of Contents - [Risk Management](https://osf.io/qukj4/wiki/Module%208%2C%20Part%202:%20Risk%20Management/) - [Cybersecurity Awareness Trainings](https://osf.io/qukj4/wiki/Module%208%2C%20Part%203:%20Cybersecurity%20Awareness%20Trainings) # Presentation Slides Example presentation slides for this module can be found [here](https://osf.io/8vutg).
