Read about this data set here:

Grahe, J.E., Chalk, H.M., Cramblet Alvarez, L.D., Faas, C.S., Hermann, A.D. and McFall, J.P., 2018. Emerging Adulthood Measured at Multiple Institutions 2: The Data. Journal of Open Psychology Data, 6(1), p.4. DOI: http://doi.org/10.5334/jopd.38

EAMMi2 Public Data Set

In an effort to make these data more useful we are including the complete data set including all data collected both within the planned data collection period (March 23-December 9, 2016) and responses added in the following year until December, 31, 2017. As such we provide two sets of cleaned data in addition to the complete set of raw data.

"EAMMi2_CleanData.sav" SPSS data file was compiled and employed by contributors from the data collected in the orginal collection period. The process for compiling those data is recorded on the EAMMi2 Data Compilation and Cleaning Process Document and includes constructed scales and variables. The EAMMi2_CleanData.sav file represents a cleaned data set removing respondent IP addresses as well as respondents who (a) completed the survey in less than 10 minutes (Nunder10min = 610), (b) failed the attention check (Nfailattention = 195), (c) completed less than 80% of the survey (Nunder80% = 258), (d) demonstrated response bias by having identical answers on at least 8 survey pages (NresponseBias = 4). This yielded a combined data set across all project locations (N = 3,153). A list of each variable name, label, and description can be found on the "EAMMi2Data_labels10.xlsx" file

EAMMi2-CombinedRawData-1.0.xlsx includes all data downloaded from the server except for 8 respondents who were under 18. This also includes n = 30 respondents who completed the survey before the official start date. We do not recommend using these respondents. We also removed respondent identifiers (IP address, longitude and latitude location). This data set represents many questionable data points and should be used only for data checking purposes (N = 4341).

The "EAMMi2-Data-1.2.xlsx" data file represents all cleaned data from the "EAMMi2-CombinedRawData-1.0.xlsx". The process for compiling those data is recorded on the EAMMi2: The Data Document which included removing respondents who (a) started before official survey start date (Nearly = 26), (b) completed the survey in less than 10 minutes (Nunder10min = 625), (b) failed the attention check (Nfailattention = 195), (c) completed less than 80% of the survey (Nunder80% = 287), (d) demonstrated response bias by having identical answers on at least 8 survey pages (NresponseBias = 8) and (e) the second responses from duplicate respondents (Nduplicates = 19). This yielded a combined data set across all project locations (N = 3,182). A list of all the variable names with labels and descriptions is also included in "EAMMi2-Names-Labels-SurveyDescriptions.xlsx" file. Please note that no scales are made for this data set.

Please visit this page for descriptive statistics for all the scales used in the EAMMi2.

A copy of the EAMMi2 survey used to collect these data is available on our Materials Component or following this direct link (https://osf.io/t3w2p/)

RECOMMENDATION When downloading data files, don't wait for the OSF to show in screen, just click download button. The file will take a long time for rendering because of size.

Analytic Advisors Tony Hermann, Jon Grahe, Holly Chalk, Caitlin Faas, Joe McFall, Leslie Cramblet Alvarez, Andrew Kemp, Katie Molyneux

Analytic advisors helped refine this data set. Anyone who adds variables either through constructing a scale or transposing a variable to improve its analytical value will be listed on the advisory board. There are also tasks in checking work and resolving descredpancies.

Pedagogical Advisors Jon Grahe

Help develop student friendly tutorials and activities to use the EAMMi2 data when when it is made public.
