Description: This project investigates the assumption of divisive normalization of the neural coding of subjective value (Louie et al., 2011, J Neurosci; 2013, PNAS). The first study is a direct replication of Louie et al., 2013 (experiment with human participants only). The second study is an eye-tracking experiment for testing an alternative account of the distractor effect reported in Louie et al. (2013), which is based on the concept of value-based attention (e.g., Anderson et al., 2011, PNAS; Gluth et al., 2018, eLife). More information can be found in the preregistration protocols (under Registrations).
