Description: Governments around the world have been trying to implement secure and reliable e-voting (location-independent, individualized voting over the Internet) for a long time, to no avail: E-voting remains fundamentally insecure. This can change with the blockchain technology, an open, transparent, and distributed digital ledger. However, blockchain-based e-voting will only work if the blockchain-based e-voting infrastructure is truly distributed and no one entity, not even the government, controls a majority of it.
