**This project contains supplementary material for the article “Who supports science-related populism? A nationally representative survey on the prevalence and explanatory factors of populist attitudes toward science in Switzerland.”** The article is published at: Mede, N. G., Schäfer, M. A nationally representative survey on the prevalence and explanatory factors of populist attitudes toward science in Switzerland. *PloS One*, *17*(8). https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0271204 ______________ In this repository we share the R syntax we used for the statistical analyses, as well as additional data and the appendix supplementing the article. It contains the following folders: - **01 Syntax**: Contains all R syntaxes used for the analyses. They have to be executed in chronological order. - **02 Additional Data**: Contains Swiss census data from the Swiss Federal Statistical Office BfS (“[Regionalporträts 2019: Kennzahlen aller Gemeinden][1]”) and a correspondence table for matching the municipality numbers of the census data with the postal codes from the survey data (PLZs). This table was also retrieved from the BfS (“[Umwandlung von PLZ in BFS-Gemeindenummer][2]”). We used these files to add inhabitant counts of respondents’ residence municipalities to the survey data. Inhabitant counts then served as a proxy measure for the degree of urbanity of respondents’ residence places. - **03 Supporting Information**: Contains Appendix S1 (Supplementary information, tables, and figures) and Appendix S2 (Original questionnaires in German, French, and Italian). <br> The survey data and additional materials (e.g., the questionnaires and a methodological report, the former in German, French, and Italian, the latter only in German) are publicly available in the online repository [*SWISSUbase*][3] (doi: 10.48573/wpf5-hf36).
