[Template][4] for M4M Workshops [How to Register New FAIR Metrics][5] ------- Basic Premise behind the M4M Concept: A great deal of excellent work has been accomplished in the theory and practice of machine-actionable metadata. Not only have the many considerations been explored, but, in many cases, multiple solutions have been proposed. As interest grows among stakeholders in FAIR Data Stewardsdhip, there is also a growing need to consolidate metadata approaches and tooling (to drive convergence in the [Strawn-Wittenburg][6] sense). The first M4M Workshop was held in Leiden, October 15-16: [Metadata 4 machines help you find and (re)use relevant research data][7] by Kristina Hettne (November 2, 2018). The meeting had the following major results: - A step towards agreements on assertions about metadata - A first discussion about minimal metadata to support Finding - The definition of a pilot tool to simplify metadata creation On the GO FAIR website: https://www.go-fair.org/resources/go-fair-workshop-series/metadata-for-machines-workshops/ By December 2018, there is enthusiastic interest in the M4M Workshops by many different stakeholders (see the growing list of M4M Workshops in the "Components Section"). To meet increasing demand for the M4M Workshops, we propose a standard format for the workshop [here][8].
