This dataset and analysis script are related to the project Attentional selection in the situation of cognitive conflict: dissociation between markers of error and error awareness (project page: https://www.researchgate.net/project/Attentional-selection-in-the-situation-of-cognitive-conflict-dissociation-between-markers-of-error-and-error-awareness). File "exp_data.csv" contains **data** accompanying the paper " A different kind of pain: affective valence of errors and incongruence" by Ivan Ivanchei, Alena Begler, Polina Iamschinina, Margarita Filippova, Maria Kuvaldina, and Andrey Chetverikov. Description of the **variables** is provided in the "codebook.txt". Script used for the **analysis** is in the "fa_for_OSF.R" file. You can use them or modify the data as you wish as long as you cite the original paper (see LICENSE.txt). We found that responses to incongruent trials elicit positive affect irrespective of their accuracy. Errors, in turn, result in negative affect irrespective of trial congruence. However, the effects of conflicts and errors do not interact.
