Description: This is a multi-component study of matrilateral cross-cousin (impal) marriage amongst the Karo people of North Sumatra, Indonesia, that is based on 5 months of fieldwork in 2014 funded by the Fulbright Scholars Program and the American Institute for Indonesian Studies.
