PDFs are shown for each fROI in (A) the left hemisphere MD network; (B) the right hemisphere MD network; (C) the left hemisphere language network; and (D) the right hemisphere language network. Thick, Dots depict data for individual participants who deviate from the group mean by more than 3 standard deviations. Thick, colored lines show the median, and gray rectangles show 95% confidence intervals (for most fROIs, these are very narrow and are thus hidden behind the median line; but see, e.g., the first 3 language fROIs in the left hemisphere). - **Figure SI-2: Responses of each fROI to passive and task-based paradigms across experiments.** Responses to passive (red) and active task (blue) paradigms are presented following the same convention as in Figure SI-1. - **Figure SI-3: Responses of each network and hemisphere to sentences in three selected experiments.** Responses (beta weights for the corresponding regressors in the GLM) are shown averaged across fROIs in the MD (red shades) and language (blue shades) networks, separately for the left (darker colors) and right (brighter colors) hemispheres. These three experiments included sentence (i.e., not word-list) materials and employed a passive comprehension (i.e., no-task) paradigm. Dots show data for individual subjects, bars show the average response across subjects, and errors bars show standard errors of the mean across subjects. - **Figure SI-4: Responses in the LH and RH MD fROIs to the critical conditions in four experiments, with data preprocessed and modeled in SPM5 (dashed line) vs. SPM12 (solid line).** [1]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/imc047n0vwfj92m/Diachek%20et%20al.%20SI-Table4.xlsx?dl=0 [2]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hl0641rn5rqvb8q/Diachek%20et%20al.%20SI-Table2.xlsx?dl=0 [3]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ylsthiysg2xc2mz/Diachek%20et%20al.%20SI-Table3a%20H%3EE.xlsx?dl=0 [4]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zwzar96exbuv837/Diachek%20et%20al.%20SI-Table3a%20N%3ES.xlsx?dl=0 [5]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bij6y4lgseg3zek/Diachek%20et%20al.%20SI-Table3b.xlsx?dl=0 [6]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bz0qp5t9ymaut65/Diachek%20et%20al.%20SI-Table1.xlsx?dl=0 [7]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/23yzsjalzv3p27p/Diachek%20et%20al.%20Critical%20analyses.Rmd?dl=0 [8]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xial2t1vdkgdd1n/spm_ss.zip?dl=0 [9]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k4rw1ibe5y58x73/Multiple%20demand%20functional%20masks.nii?dl=0 [10]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b40jskvavaifcw6/Language%20functional%20masks.nii?dl=0 [11]: https://www.dropbox.com/s/up5knic2d7zwhpb/testLocalizers.zip?dl=0
