Description: A power analysis was conducted via Optimal Design 3.01 (Spybrook et al., 2011), to determine the minimum number of couples required for two-level cross-classified logistic regressions (persons crossed with signals and nested within couples). We assumed that (a) the effect sizes of the hypothesized main effects regarding communal motivations were small (d = .20), and (b) both members provided (at least) five usable responses.
