Wiki Version:
**Aim and Scope** With the spread of COVID-19, stress caused by the fear of infection, the stay-at-home order, and promoted shift to telework (i.e., stress due to COVID-19) is increasing. It is urgently and globally necessary to identify factors reducing stress that may lead to physical/mental disorders. We focused on “psychological resilience”, and performed international comparisons on “interference factors that reduce stress” and “recovery factors that promote recovery from stressful events and personal growth” among 4 countries: Japan, the United States, China, and Malaysia. We elucidated the effects of the ability to take continuous and sustainable actions, and recover from adversity or crisis (= psychological resilience). Another aim of this study is to collect data that will provide a basis for studying the policies and support systems in other countries. We aim to clarify not only cultural differences, but also differences in the level of stress due to COVID-19 by analyzing the different attributes of the subjects, including the age, sex, occupational category, and place of residence. This study was partly supported by Research Support Program to Tackle COVID‐19 Related Emergency Problems, University of Tsukuba.
