Description: Data and code books for the CESAR 0 study The CESAR 0 study was a multipart study, which was administered in an online format via the survey software Unipark (www.unipark.com). N = 515 students from Saarland University, TU Kaiserslautern and ETH Zürich participated in the study. The survey consisted of the following parts: 1. Representational Competence of Fields Inventory RCFI (12 items) 2. Concept test on electromagnetism and Lorentz force (13 items) 3. Three items concerning the extent to which the students could remember experiments on these concepts carried out in their physics lessons at school 4. Ten items referring to the students' understanding of scientific models and experimental skills 5. Questions on gender, age, school type, the extent of physics lessons attended at school, and the participant’s current subject of study 6. Self-assessment on data quality
