Description: This is a scoping review, which consists of an exploratory and systematized review that allows it to be conducted in order to identify knowledge gaps described in national and international scientific literature. The methodological protocol of the study, The Joanna Briggs Institute for Scoping Reviews, will clarify evidence and establish the application of the PCC strategy, an acronym for: Population (P) – hospitalized children Concept (C) – The use of TP and play; and Context (C) – pediatric unit, to construct the research question. In this way, the review question is identified: “What scientific evidence is available on playing and the use of TP in the care of hospitalized children described in national and international scientific literature? ‘’ . Inclusion criteria were established (studies published in the last five years, in English, Spanish and Portuguese, which analyzed the importance of play and games in the context of child hospitalization) and exclusion criteria (editorials, letters to the editor, critical comments and books addressing the subject, as well as duplicates and articles not available in full)
