Description: This PRISMA-Sc compliant scoping review project will seek to identify and report on any peer-reviewed, English-language journal articles published after 2010 that examined the association between the gut microbiome and/or immune system function on child neurodevelopment or behaviour up to 5 years of age. The research question for this scoping review is: What associations have been reported between the gut microbiome or immune system with continuous measures of development or behaviour within the first five years of life? We are limiting the search to peer-reviewed, English language journals published after 2010 to ensure relevance and interpretability. The final literature search for this review was completed in April, 2021. Data extraction will be completed by June 2021. Manuscript preparation will be completed before August 2021.
