Description: I argue that not all logically possible combinations of case and agreement alignment in ditransitive constructions involving agreement with one object are attested. I provide an explanation for why there is this typological gap and I discuss some apparent counterexamples. I provide typological evidence that this explanation is on the right track and show that the empirical picture is compatible with a uniform structure of ditransitive constructions across languages.
