Ground rule instructions are included in numerous forensic interview protocols despite the lack of empirical information on when to implement them in interviews and their effect on children’s reports of experienced events (Brubacher et al., 2015) The present study examined whether children’s performance on ground rule questions predicted the accuracy of their responses provided by children to standard questions versus the same questions with a “Do you remember…” (DYR) preface.
