We study global generosity behaviors and motivations across countries and cultural groups in the context of the 2020 Corona crisis. We will use a mixed-methods approach, where we combine open-ended interviews, survey research and an archival study. In the survey we will ask both closed and open-ended questions to get to an inclusive understanding of the concept, behavior and motivations related to generosity across the globe, in particular in times of crisis. The open interviews focus on a more in-depth understanding of the concepts related to generosity behavior, as practices across countries and cultures, within and outside times of crisis. In the archival study, we will collect stories of generosity behavior as reported through television news, newspapers, and social media across the world.
