This study examined whether learners’ processing of subject-verb (S-V) agreement in English is modulated by the accessibility of number features in the subject. We investigated whether cues for the number features modulate S-V agreement, and whether training to enhance sensitivity to number facilitates S-V agreement. We focused on two cues, Quantification and Markedness. The Experimental Group showed sensitivity to agreement violations only post-training. The Control Group showed sensitivity modulated by Markedness. These findings show that enhancing sensitivity to number facilitates S-V agreement processing, suggesting a relationship between the accessibility of number features and learners’ processing of S-V agreement.
