Wiki Version:
This project contains supplementary materials for our paper *'I Just Wanted to Get it Over and Done With': A Grounded Theory of Psychological Need Frustration in Video Games'*. In [codebook.docx][1], you'll find the full coding tree, with associated frequency of each code. Short descriptions are included for the mid- and high-level codes discussed in the manuscript. In [codedSegments.docx][2], you'll find a printout of every coded segment associated with each of the codes in the codebook. [S1_EmotionalExperiences.docx][3] is a supplementary materials file containing descriptions and evidence for categories of emotional experiences that participants described when encountering need frustration in video games. [interviewGuide.docx][4] contains the guiding quetsions used during interviews (note that these questions changed throughout the study to better elicit the data needed to enrich or test the model). [screenerResponses.xlsx][5] has the pseudonymized survey data from each of the 12 participants, including e.g. their age, favorite games, degree of need frustration experienced in relation to gaming, etc. Finally, the Transcripts folder contains individual Word documents with the anonymized transcript from each of the 12 interviews—i.e., the "raw" data.
