Description: CityMove seeks to research the impact of active and healthier urban environments on reducing the prevalence of noncommunicable diseases. CityMove studies the impact of 13 physical activity interventions in six cities across three continents, using the Global Action Plan on Physical Activity (GAPPA) as a guide, and will develop an evaluation framework to promote the scalability and transferability of the elements that support and accelerate physical activity in the least active or vulnerable groups. CityMove Cities: • Africa: Kampala. • Europe: Antwerp, Ljubljana, and Rotterdam. • Latin America: Bogotá and Lima. The City Move project is being coordinated by University of Antwerp, in partnership with the University of Essex, Erasmus University of Rotterdam, National University of Agraria La Molina, Foundation University of Juan N Corpas, Makererre University, The City of Antwerp and Walk21 Foundation. The City Move project is funded by the European Commission, under the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD) Healthy Cities Research Programme.
